Director：Shaofu Zhang
Shaofu Zhang is an award-winning director, writer, and the founder of the Academy Award–nominated Taiko Studios. He earned his M.F.A. in Animation & Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University, where his student film Dragonboy received the Gold Medal at the Student Academy Awards.
After working at major studios including Walt Disney Animation Studios and Sony Pictures Imageworks, Zhang founded Taiko Studios in 2017 with a mission to “bridge East and West through animation.”
Under his leadership, Taiko produced the Oscar-nominated short One Small Step, the inspirational story of a young Chinese-American girl aspiring to reach space. Zhang has since developed and directed numerous award-winning projects for brands such as Pokémon, LEGO, Tencent, Supercell and Airbnb.
His work is distinguished by emotional storytelling, bold visual style, and exceptional craftsmanship, establishing Zhang as a rising voice in global animation.
