Takashi Murakami “The Creatures From Planet 66 ~Roppongi Hills Story~”

Original Title: The Creatures From Planet 66 ~Roppongi Hills Story~

Japan
2003

Introduction

This promotional short animation was created for the April 2003 opening of the Roppongi Hills complex in Tokyo. Following SUPERFLAT MONOGRAM, Mamoru Hosoda once again visualized artist Takashi Murakami’s concept. Murakami’s characters known as the “Rokuroku Seijin” modeled in part after people involved in the project, visit the newly completed Roppongi Hills. Produced entirely in full CG, it was developed alongside the commercial film made for the opening. This is a rare piece of footage that has never been released online.
