Submission Requirements

Online Distribution Preparation

Provide us with the URL and its password for streaming (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc.) for one complete work. No digest version accepted. Acceptable language(s) are Japanese and/or English. For any other language, please provide subtitles in English. For the Japanese-only video, English subtitles will be required after shortlisting.

Preparing Work Information

Please prepare the title, synopsis, and director profile (in both Japanese and English).

Preparing Image Materials

Please prepare an image of the work and a photo of the director.

Filling Out and Registering the Application Form

Please fill in the required information in the application form.

Checking the Application Confirmation Email

You will receive an automated confirmation reply by email. Please keep it for the proof of application.
Online distribution in the festival might be conducted if any serious epidemic or other issues occur. However, the application of a film which restricts online distribution shall be accepted and is welcome. The inability of the online distribution shall not bias the judgment.

Eligibility

Please read the terms and conditions of Aichi Nagoya International Animation Film Festival. By submitting your application, you will agree with the terms and conditions. Some important points are:

  1. Must be an animation with a length of 40 minutes or more, including end credits. Any method of production is acceptable.
  2. Must have been completed during or after January 2024.
  3. All entries must have English subtitles at the time of submission. For films in Japanese, please submit the English-subtitled version after receiving notification that your film will be screened.
  4. The director, producer, and applicant must have the rights to screen the film and guarantee that no legal issues shall arise for its screening at the festival.
  5. The applicant must have secured all rights related to music, characters, and copyrighted visuals used in the film. The festival is not liable for any legal disputes a rising from right s issues.

Depending on circumstances, online screenings may be conducted.
Films that cannot be streamed online may still be submitted and will not be disadvantaged in the selection process. Online availability will be confirmed after the selection.
